Ne-am strans la Atelier 35 vreo 9 oameni: Lidia Neagu, Ada Musat, Diana Bobina, George Enache,

Dan Alexandru, Lucian Bran, Saint, Griogore si cu mine, si-am incercat sa expunem o parte

minuscula din Valea Cascadelor. In seara deschiderii ni s-au alaturat invitati speciali Nicu Ilfoveanu

si Octav Avramescu, impreuna cu volumul Gasiti si pierduti.

La inceput a fost instalatia pe roti din resturi de mobilier, usi aruncate si din bucati de lemn

gasite la prieteni sau pe strada. Rotile, negresele, suruburile si scheletul sunt din zona Obor..

Apoi a venit montarea fotografiilor pe pereti. Lidia, Lucian, Dan Alexandru, George si Ada s-au

ocupat de departamentul asta. Dan a expus un film gasit in targ, Lucian un interior cu tapet tot

din targ (parte din seria The Promised Land), iar George, Lidia si Ada au venit in completare cu

cateva portrete si instantanee.

Peretele cu colajul de obiecte si mobilarea instalatiei au fost bucata mai grea din ansamblu.

Am avut noroc cu multe dintre rochiile si accesoriile colectionate de Diana. Tablourile, icoanele

cutiile si obiectele sunt in mare parte de la Ada. In afara de Michael Jackson, masinute, de

cowboii si indienii pe care le-a gasit Dan Alex. Saint ne-a aruncat o vesta de salvare si o ilutratie-afis,

amandoua tot de la Valea Cascadelor si io am strecurat un colaj si o macheta a targului unde-a

mai ramas ceva loc liber.

Intr-un sfarsit, la deschidere, ne-au mai linistit cu pogacele, prajituri, tuica si vin. Pe fundalul

ospatului rula o inregistrare cu sunete de la Cascadelor (multumim Daria pentru recorder)

editata si asamblata de Grigore. Mai pe-ntunecate s-au ascultat viniluri cu Ioana Radu, tot din

targ, pana cand au aparut doi muzicanti francezi nomazi care strang cantece de prin satele

romanesti la chemarea lui Octav.

Daca n-ati prins deschiderea, Resturi/Restul ramane la Atelier 35 (multumim Silvia pentru

gazduire) pana pe 28 ianuarie. Sau mai bine vizitati muzeul de la Valea Cascadelor, din care-

am furat fiecare cat am putut cara. E deschis si el pana pe la 2, vinerea si-n weekend, in functie

de conditiile meteo. Multumim celor care-au venit in vizita. Fotografiile sunt de George Enache,

restu mai varza de mine.

opening this Wednesday at Atelier 35. There's sound to go with photos, old magazines, badges,

figurines and other curiosities.

A comic, flyer and cards designed and illustrated by moi for Ora 25's project Busola Mov focused

on informing people about drugs. There will be periodical folding flyers detailing various facets

of commonly used drugs (distributed through clubs on weekends in Timisoara). Each new drug

will come with its own special colour. So far it's the blues for alcohol. Looking forward to choosing

a chromatic psychedelic treat for Lucy :P

was visiting the veiozaarte crew a couple of weeks ago, when i ran into

The Story of Writing and into this, an alphabet? a comics? didn't know what

to make of it but i knew i wanted to do something about it. Remember Cristi,

part of Redrops, had asked me to do a comics for a book he'll publish this year,

the subject had to be linked to the Jungle one way or another.

So i connected dot 1. Mayans to dot 2.make a comics now, and tada!

one weekend minus, plus two crooked teeth, coupled with hemophobia and

here you have it: Any day in the jungle could be your last (lyrics from

a Pharcyde song, i think...). Still wrestling with words, next comics will be

the shit! For now you have a tiny phart.

collage is going to be the end of me, so i decided to make it a happy one :D

and since the lasso tool's worked its way into being more handy than a dildo,

i thought i should fiddle a grand finale with some 200 layers in photoshop.

the actual print will be 42 cm of pure bliss on some white cotton shirt. still

negotiating with the printers. hope to have pics of the t-shirt sooon. but

since everything in this country (except the traffic) moves so snail-like, i'm

prepared to wait another eon..

thinking inside the box turns out to be just as hap-hazardous as outside of it. above we have on

display ein nouveau piece, one of two contemplating the endless possibilities provided by the

parallelepiped. parts of it are inspired by the Mayan syllabus, which is a demented cross-over

between comics and glyphs. can anyone spot the head in the emptiness?

an extract of our show, which took place last Friday night, part of Noaptea Alba a Galeriilor.

It was held at Kollector Gallery, an obscure outlet for "art hoes and design hustlers" in the

vicinity of Fabrica club.

Silestru handled all the mutant sculpture works, Vlad's piece was a personal map of memories

hanging 2 and a half meters tall. Mîndru collected some of his vector illustrations and printed

them on "N-am bani" sweat shirts while Turbo showcased 4 photographs, part of his graduation

piece. Samih doodled frenetic fat squeezer marks and Dj Camil dazzled what was left of our dazed

brains. Mister Ciprian Dicu was left in charge of the chaotic curator job but also glued a custom

made phrase for this specific occasion: "no money makes you smart when you're a stupid fuck".

The photos are fuzzy in part, sorry for the low quality, it's because i use a soapbox for a camera.

Hope you can, however, get a blurry picture of what we managed to gather in our grotto.
